I am on the train from Lisbon to Porto in Portugal with my son. We have been here for a week and we have another week ahead of us. We are having a great time here. It is very hot, around 35-40 celsus most of the time.
We are loving it here. We just have been to the Fado museum and feel humble over our destiny and desti-nation in life. Gratitude is the overwholming emotion that is ruling me right now.
I am listning to some Fado on the train and reflect upon the choice that I made over this summer not to travel to the USA for the world cup.
We choce Portugal instead even if we had already purchased the plane ticket to New York. We cancelled that one and took Lisbon. A great decision that has been prevailed.
We are following the world cup on a big screen. The fact that Cape Verde and Senegal lost their matches agains Argentina and Belgium in the last minutes of the extra time, was heart-breaking but all African teams have shown their true dignity and skills in an amazing manner.
On another note, I say shame upon you to South Africa for the xenphobia that is defining your nation currently.
Fadomonia is not necessarly a negative feeling but a humility and wondering about how life could be different if there was a will from the ruling 1% of the population on this planet.
I am enjoying reading Maruki Murakami's book Norwegian Wood and should be reading and stop writing at this moment. Have a lovely day and summer whereever you happen to be!
Capodium!
