Det meningsfulla är kanske det enkla.....

Människan förbryllar mig. Jag blir aldrig klok på henne. Denna utsatta varelse som alltid ska skämas och skäma ut sig.

Vad vil hon egentligen?

South Africa, Swaziland and Mozambique

We have been in Southern Africa for two weeks now and have had interesting experiences so far. The journey did not start well though. We had to change a flight in Zurich, Switzerland on the way to Johannesburg, South Africa. We sat in that plane just in front of a guy who was being deported from Switzerland. He was handcuffed by the policemen and was screaming in frustration. We did not understand what it was all about initially but I asked the guys what it was all about and got the information that "the man had commited a crime in Switzerland and had to be expelled from the country".

It was heartbreaking and frustrating to listen to the guy who protested the deportation violently. We felt powerless over the whole situation. It was a weard feeling to sit there and not to able to do anything about it. I told the policemen to treat the man in respect to the international humanright standards and with dignity. They were not impressed by my interference. First lady burst in tears whereus most of the passengers were more or less indifferent to the whole thing.

The pilot eventually told the policemen to take out the guy because he would not be able to fly otherwise which they did to our relief. It was a very emotional and most exasperating moment of our journey. We were impacted by the incident in the rest of the flight which was deteriorited by the turbulent wind. We arrived though safely and took a taxi to the guest house in Roder poort outside Johannesburg.

The manager in the guest house was a 32 year old woman who was armed with a pistol and a knife. She has a strange view of blacks and is one of the most ignorant persons I ever met on this planet. We went to Swaziland after three days there since we met a couple ahead of the quarter final between Ghana and Urugay. They also stayed in the guest house. This couple let us stay at their beautiful house in pinevalley , Swaziland for three days and we had a wonderful time there. We did a "Sibebe" which means walked through the rocky mountains in the area.

Swaziland is a very beautiful place but has a king who has an absolute power and a firm grip on its population. We saw a film called "without the king" which gives an informative picture of the country.

We continued then to Maputo, Mozambique by a minibus and had a pleasant journey. Maputo is still recovering from the civil war as the rest of the country. Unemployment is high among the youth who survive by trying to sale whatever they have. It is always sad to see so many people suffering from poverty. The island katembe just outside Maputo was a refreshing place and a bit of relief.

Mozambique, Swaziland and South Africa have a long way to walk but the determination of their populations to get out of poverty in descency is amazing despite all the odds agains them.

The world cup has brought some people together in South Africa but its long time ramification and legacy to the country remains to be seen. I am not that much optimistic about the future of this country because of the tense relationships that still exist among different sectors of the South African society, the socio-economic injustice which is based on racial division despite political apartheid is supposed to be gone.

The arrival of Mandela in Soccer city at the final and to have been able to be a part and parcel of that event is something that we are very happy about. The final itself was not exciting but the right team won. Ghana was robbed its semifanla place by Suarez but they are the champions of Africa and the world. I am humbeld and grateful to have witnessed a world cup in this country despite my initial reservations.

We are planning to go to Durban, Port Elisabeth and Cape Town in the coming days. The apartheid museum in Johannesburg is something that I recommend every human-being.

Julius Malema and the Boer

The best time of the year is around the corner for me. I am on vacation until the very beginning of august and shall spend most of it in South Africa enjoying the world cup. It is gonna be a great experience. I personally do not like the reasons that have been used to host the world cup in South Africa.

I know that Nelson Mandela fought for the country to be awarded the opportunity. He is a strong believer of reconciliation through sports. I give him a credit for the that but the racist structures and instituitions of Apartheid remain intact 16 years after the end of political apartheid.

There is no doubt that sport in general and football in particular can have a positive ramification on peoples' lives but South Africa has other priorities than building huge stadiums for millions of dollars.

You do not have to be a genius to understand that the world cup does not creat a miracle in a country where millions of people are suffering from AIDS and poverty. Temporry jobs are not gonna solve the deep-rooted injustice in the racist system of apartheid. What South Africa needs is a radical change which gives economical empowerment to the majority blacks who are still lagging behind the whites in all aspects of life standard.

FIFA, Coca-cola, Mccdonalds and other big multinational companies are of course profiting beause of the world cup as never before whereas the grassroot people can not even make ends meet. I am not sure if I would grasp the BOER mindset but I look forward to socializing with people from all walks of life and creed. I hope to interview the controvercial ANC youth leader Julius Malama who has a strong opinion about the Boer. He has said: a good Boer is a dead Boer.

The Pan-Africanist!

The horn of Africa is part and parcel of Africa. The time for division and dismemberance is over. The pan-African sprit should be the order of the day. The colonial masters and their bloody borders are not sacred. Africa for the Africans. Leave us alone. Babylone!!!

The zion train is destined to emanicipate the ignorant from mental slavery. Nation - state is a European project with no relevence to the African reality which demands a home - made solution. I am sick and tired of the western media and establishment which continues to perpetuate the stereotyping of Africans.

The oil, diamonds and all the natural resources are not for sale to enrich the already rich ones. Africans have the right to be the masters of their own dstiny by any means necessary.

The world cup in South Africa!

Ladies and Gentlemen!

I am back on track once again.

It has been a while since I wrote my last contribution on this forum. The long and cold winter has obviously had a negative impact on my writing capacity. I hope that the winter is over for this time. I actually enjoyed the snow but I do not look forward to spending next winter in Sweden. I hope to be elsewhere on the planet if the Islandic volcano has settled down until then :-).

I am gonna be flying to South Africa for the world cup on the 29th of june and gonna watch the final between Cameroon and Ivory Coast in Johannesburg on the 11 th of july!!!
I have got the ticket for the increadble match. First lady is gonna be there too.

Everybody is telling me how dangerous it is in South Africa with 50 peole killed on average per day. It is a scary statistic but if my destiny is to be killed there, let it be. I am not afraid of fear, I am only afraid of my own shadow. You have to take normal caution wherever you are and I am sure that the security situation will improve during the world cup as South Africa would not like to draw itself into an embarassing advertisment of homicides and robberies.

These days are therefore exciting ones when you are waiting for the real spring and summer to arrive and most of all the world cup atmosphere to engulf every nation across the world. Football is the only uniting factor in the so called global age when fragmentation along ethnicity and religion is the order of the day. Thanks GOD that the ball is still round!!!May Humania Win!!!
